Welcome to Translation-Practical Applications!

This module introduces students to the fundamental principles and practical applications of translation between English and their native language. It focuses on translating everyday texts and developing awareness of how meaning, register, audience, and cultural context shape translation choices.

Designed for students at the beginning of their academic journey, the module provides structured opportunities to practise translation, reflect on decision-making, and develop an initial understanding of translation as a professional activity. Emphasis is placed on meaning-based translation rather than word-for-word transfer.
